Operations Management Trainee
Shaws Operations Management Trainee program offers participants a strong foundation
for a successful career. Operations Management Trainees (OMT) participate in a comprehensive
10 week training program including manufacturing techniques, process knowledge,
product development, customer service, human resource management, inventory control,
product transportation, and shipping/receiving procedures.
They will have the opportunity to interact with employees, directors, plant managers,
and executives. In addition, trainees will complete personal and professional development
training courses such as Time Management, Leadership Skills, Safety and Environmental,
and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. While in the program, trainees will interview
for open entry-level positions in the company.
Typical "entry-level" positions include Project Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Improvement Engineering,
and Six Sigma Management. Trainees will complete the program and then take on the responsibility
of their new position. Trainees not accepting a position by the end of the training
program will be placed on temporary assignments to complete project work until such
a time as a new position is accepted.
Initial training takes place in Dalton, GA. Various permanent positions throughout the southeast.
Four (4) Year Degree: Polymer Textile Fiber Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, and any Textile discipline.
Co-op or intern experience preferred.
Minimum 2.50 grade point average.
Citizenship: US Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylum, or Refugee.
