Dalton is conveniently located just 25 minutes south of Chattanooga and 90 minutes
north of Atlanta, right off of Interstate 75. Our location offers access to world-class

Dalton’s Parks and Recreation Department oversees 644 acres of land, 12 parks, 26
athletic fields, 24 tennis courts, 10 playgrounds, a swimming pool, and directs myriad
sporting activities for youth.
Shopping options abound in Dalton’s rejuvenated downtown area, with unique
boutiques and craft stores. The Dalton Little Theater, the Artistic Civic Theater, and
the Creative Arts Guild provide an outlet for budding or veteran actors and artists.
If you’re into American history, the area is abundant with Native American sites,
historic homes, and mills and Civil War landmarks, including the Chickamauga
battlefield - the National Park Services oldest and largest Civil War Park which is only
a 20-minute drive away.
The local schools are some of the best in the state. In fact, Dalton High School was
recently ranked as the #16 best overall high school in Georgia. With 9 schools in the
city that have nearly 7,000 students, Dalton has much to be proud of in the way of
